As a charitable organisation, throughout this pandemic we have faced an uncertain future, and it still contains now. With York now being classed as ‘High Risk’ under the new Coronavirus tier lockdown system, we are faced with no other decision but to focus our efforts on our online content. We hope to resume face-to-face events and workshops in January 2021, at the earliest. You can view what to expect when we return below. Until then, our teams will be working on Online Dojos, and we will be working with York Pi Jam on some exciting new projects such as Mission Zero and the Autumn ‘Code with us’ season. Keep safe and we hope to see you face-to-face in 2021.
We ask that everyone follows the 2m social distancing rule at our Dojos, from entering all the way to leaving. Want to show someone a project? Don’t worry… we can find a way to do that from a distance.
Good hygiene is the most important way to stop the spread. In addition to our frequent cleaning, we ask all attendees to make use of our free hand sanitiser stations… after all, it is free.
Whether you’ve got COVID-19 symptoms and are now having to self-isolate, or maybe you’d feel way safer at home… we’ve got you covered. We are working on our own Projects website so you can make what we are making at our Dojos… right from the comfort of your own homes.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have suspended all face-to-face events and workshops that are part of the York Pi Jam family (including Selby CoderDojo).
Young people write a program to take a humidity reading onboard the International Space Station and communicate it to the astronauts with a personalised message, which will be displayed for 30 seconds!
We have some goodies for registering and submitting, and in Summer 2021, you’ll receive a printed certificate with information on where your code was executed!
You can do it individually or in a group of 2-4 young people.
If you are working in a team, please make sure you follow all COVID-19 regulations.
